School can bring a lot of stress, and most of the time, it is only one individual class that drains the students’ brains. “I would say that chemistry stresses me out the most because I don't understand what is going on half of the time. It is a very complicated and hard subject in my opinion,” junior Veronica Ramos said.

“[My New Year’s Resolutions are] probably to start taking things more seriously when it comes to school so I can get into a good college,” junior Jillian Provaznik said. “[I plan to achieve this by] starting to talk to schools who’d be interested in recruiting me for their track team and making sure my grades are good enough to get into them.”

18-year-old Pamela Sanchez is attending Washington State University after graduating from Kittitas in 2019. Sanchez plans to continue attending WSU for two years, after which she will transfer to WSU’s nursing school in Yakima to finish off her four years for a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. “[I] probably [enjoy] the independence and the breaks between classes and meeting new people [the most],” Sanchez said. Some key differences between Sanchez’s college life and high school life include not seeing her family everyday, the huge amount of homework in college and the seemingly limitless freedom in life.

Where Are They Now?

Freshman Dacia Boothman transferred to Kittitas from Las Vegas in the middle of October. Boothman plays volleyball and swims. She loves English with English teacher Wendy Hudson and finds it easy to make friends in Kittitas and its environment. “In my opinion, people are a lot nicer here than any of my other schools,” Boothman said.
